STAR TEC, DataGlyphics Launch New Website
9/1/2004
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – DataGlyphics Inc., a St. Petersburg-based web development firm, and the STAR Technology Enterprise Center (STAR TEC) in Largo, Fla., today announced the launch of the STAR TEC website – www.startecflorida.com. DataGlyphics developed the site in the Microsoft .NET development platform and will continue to provide site hosting and managed Web services.
"Our website is a powerful tool that will allow us to reach prospective tenants, service providers, funding sources, partners and other key audiences," says Suzie Boland, president of RFB Communications Group and STAR TEC advisory board chairman. "We are so grateful to DataGlyphics for providing us with such a dynamic resource."
STAR TEC is the Tampa Bay area's first technology and anufacturing business accelerator, and its mission is to accelerate entrepreneurial success of early stage manufacturing and technology companies throughout the region. Companies interested in becoming tenants must meet certain criteria and all are required to complete a thorough application.
The new site offers a downloadable tenant application and an online version. The online system allows companies to submit their information electronically and upload business plans in a secure environment. Then, authorized STAR TEC personnel can logon to review, grade and post comments about each electronically-submitted business plan.
DataGlyphics also developed a dynamic event calendar and a database-driven news section that allows STAR TEC users to logon and manage website content with no HTML or programming experience required.
STAR TEC occupies 20,000 square feet of space in the Young-Rainey Science and Technology Research (STAR) Center and was formed to help local technology companies migrate their products and services to market more rapidly and effectively.
William H. Stover, Jr., CEO of DataGlyphics, said, "Now that the site is live, STAR TEC personnel and potential tenants have a tremendous tool for launching and supporting local technology and manufacturing firms. For STAR TEC, the system allows them to capture potential tenant information in an online database for review and archiving. For tenants, the site provides valuable information and an online tool for submitting their business plans."
About STAR TEC
STAR TEC's goals are to create and foster an entrepreneurial environment, provide access to capital, and support new manufacturing and technology companies. Founders expect this to take place by providing resident companies with business, technical and networking connections through a wealth of community resources, thus aiding incubator companies to migrate their product/concept to market quicker and reach profitability sooner.
