Paradigm Learning, DataGlyphics Create Training Support Web Site
1/6/2003
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The financial-literacy game that helped change the way companies educate their employees about the basics of business is about to become even more valuable to training and HR professionals.
Paradigm Learning, whose flagship board game "Zodiak®: The Game of Business Finance and Strategy" has been played by more than 1 million people at 400 organizations worldwide, announces the debut of "Z Plus™" - a free, Web-based support and resource center for clients using Zodiak.
Z Plus helps companies get extra impact from Zodiak by offering a deep library of implementation ideas and ready-to-use materials. It is designed to build employee excitement and increase retention of the game's educational principles, giving clients immediate access to a variety of downloadable and interactive resources, including:
Internal marketing campaign material: Customizable posters, postcards, payroll stuffers and more, to generate interest and enthusiasm for the program.
Newsletter articles: Pre-written, customizable information that can be published by a client's internal-communication outlets.
Executive letters: Customizable letters that may be sent from senior executives to employees, advocating the program and its benefits.
Reinforcement programs: Easy-to-administer activities that keep Zodiak's lessons fresh, even months later.
Expert advice: An arrangement that allows facilitators to contact Zodiak experts with questions about implementation, effectiveness or other strategies.
Zodiak Gear: A catalog of items (such as coffee mugs, clothing, etc.) that can be customized with a client's logo to keep the power of Zodiak alive within an organization.
Z Plus can be accessed through Paradigm Learning's corporate Web site (www.paradigmlearning.com) with a user name and a password. Its content will expand over time, with the development of such new features as measurement and reinforcement tools, and with a growing archive of training tips and expert feedback.
Zodiak, created in 1994, is a hands-on simulation of the business situations that executives face every day - disguised as a top-of-the-table, roll-the-dice board game. Players manage a fictional company over the span of three simulated years, learning how to analyze numbers to grasp the impact of their decisions. Its aim is to get employees thinking like their bosses, understanding how they affect the bottom line with their daily decisions.
"We believe Zodiak is an investment in a company's future - not an expense," said Paradigm Learning president Catherine J. Rezak. "Z Plus allows us to become an extension of our clients' companies, a reliable partner that helps their people become better equipped to contribute to the company's success."
Paradigm Learning's development partner is St. Petersburg-based DataGlyphics, which will provide the online backbone through programming, hosting and design. DataGlyphics, established in 1998, develops, hosts and manages corporate Internet applications. Its clients include Trend Magazines, Nokia, Florida Marine Research Institute and Lazzara Yachts.
"This is an opportunity to demonstrate the power of relationships," said DataGlyphics CEO William H. Stover Jr. "Our goal is for visitors to the Z Plus site to take advantage of the versatility and the immediacy of the Internet and relate it to their real-world experiences. With Web solutions that are highly visual, informative and user-friendly, this is the perfect marriage of medium and message."
